Amit Mehra, crowned as Mr. Universe India in 2018, is a multifaceted model, actor and producer based in Dubai, London and Mumbai. He's known for numerous roles in movies and TV shows, has modelled for international designers and brands and continues to inspire others with his fitness expertise.
Actor – from Los Angeles to Bollywood
Amit's journey in the world of entertainment started in 2011 when he took part in the TV show ‘Fear Factor’ (Khatron Ke Khiladi) season 4 with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. The following year Amit relocated to Los Angeles and had the privilege of learning acting skills from the renowned Hollywood acting guru, Tom Logan. This experience opened doors in the modeling world as well, leading to appearances in TV advertisements for brands like Thumbs Up, Park Avenue Soap, and Audi.
In 2014, Amit made a conscious decision to return to Mumbai and immerse himself in the Indian perspective of acting. He became part of various live theatre groups before making his mark in Bollywood with roles in notable films such as 'Titoo MBA' (2014), 'Arjun Patiala' (2019), and 'Marjaavaan' (2019). Additionally, he was in several episodes of the TV show 'Mahabharat' (2014) and starred in the famous daily soap 'Pishachini' (2022) on Indian television.
Model – international designer and brands
Amit started his modelling career while studying acting with Tom Logan in California. Since his return to India he has also taken up residence in Dubai and continues to thrive in the modeling industry, featuring in campaigns for prominent brands like Coca Cola, Amazon, Radisson Hotels, Airtel, Siyaram's, HP, Schwarzkopf, L'Oréal, and many more.
His modelling career has taken him around the globe, living in Dubai, Atlanta, Milan, and Mumbai. He's traveled extensively across Europe, Asia, North and South America, enriching his understanding of various cultures. Besides being fluent in English and Hindi, he also understands Punjabi, Haryani, some Italian, and has a smattering of Spanish.
Fitness – a lifelong commitment for Mr. Universe India
Born into a newspaper family in Delhi, Amit excelled in sports like cricket, badminton, volleyball, and athletics from a young age. As he grew taller, he embraced fitness and made it a lifelong commitment. Amit's thirst for knowledge led him to study Food and Health Studies at Stanford University, California. His dedication to a consistent workout routine in combination with his knowledge of nutrition shows in his stunning physique and in his success as a fitness model.
In 2018, Amit embraced a new challenge by entering the 'Mr. Universe India' competition, where he won first prize. He went on to represent India at the 'Mr. Universe World Championships' in the Dominican Republic, securing a great 2nd place in the Sports and Fitness Category. Today, he not only works out daily but also shares his knowledge as a coach and fitness expert.
Producer – a passion for culture and storytelling
In addition to his impressive acting and modeling career, Amit Mehra has dedicated himself to producing. Currently, he is working on an exciting documentary series that explores the rich history, traditions, and existence of ancient Indian temples. Through this venture, he aims to shed light on the cultural heritage and spiritual significance of these architectural marvels, bringing their captivating narratives to life on the screen.
